Put Penny Way, Christchurch in the satnav to reach car park. Bear left along the cliff top into nature reserve. Walk until you reach the zigzag past Highcliffe Castle.

There are multiple paths taking you back to the car park. Cut back through the garden behind the castle to pick up a path. I tend to walk parallel to the golf course boundary fence. At the very end the footpath takes you back to the beach car park through a posh housing estate. It's short and sweet.

First 100m are open to the elements

On finer days we'd go down the zigzag and come back along the beach.

It's generally off lead, except the castle garden.
