Diego the Greater Swiss Mountain dog

He is our first Swissy so I don't claim to be an expert but love talking about the breed as it isn't particularly common. We haven't had him from a pup so very much a learning curve taking him on after only having had terriers before.

Diego is 5 this month and has definitely slowed down the last year! His 'puppy phase' definitely lasted until he was about 3/4 😅

As a breed, they do seem to adapt to your lifestyle pretty well. He expects to go out in all weather, loves water but the wind freaks him out. He's walked twice a day and then mostly sleeps the rest of the day. He is very stubborn, you learn the hard way that consistency is key and Diego is absolutely no angel.

He is currently navigating life as a big brother and both him and our daughter are currently discovering how their relationship is going to work! They make a great family dog, despite being huge and unaware of his size, he is very gentle with her.
