Please note that members of the facebook group, Dog Friendly Dorset group, offer to host these walks to help us to fundraise. We do not organise the walks or play dates.

Our guidelines on walks are to keep your dog on a lead for the first 5/10 minutes until all dogs have met each other. If any dogs take a dislike to each other these dogs must remain on a lead and walked at a distance or leave the walk. This is because once dogs express a dislike to each other their stress buckets will fill and we wish to help you to avoid any spats. As rare as they may be.

Click to see GUIDELINES for whether your dog is suited to these types of walks and play dates and please be aware that you will need your own pet insurance to attend as Dorset Dogs CIC and/or the Facebook group members who organise them cannot take any liability for the play dates you and the members are arranging and attending. Groups of people and dogs who want to meet up and get to know each other offline as well as online. As with any Facebook group, liability is between the owners of any dogs involved in any spats. You will need to take responsibility for your own dogs.

We cannot take liability for your dog and you will need to have your own insurance to participate in Dog Friendly Dorset Facebook Group walks and play dates. If any issues arise these must be resolved between the owners of the dogs involved. The meets are organised by members of a Facebook group scheduling meet ups for their members who are organising them within the community to bring their dogs together.

What You Give Back

Our Mission…

Love Dogs. Love Dorset.

Our mission is to raise awareness of the importance of dogs to humans’ wellbeing both mental and physical. We have opened 12 Pet Food Banks in 12 months across Dorset to ease the cost-of-living crisis on those humans with pets. We have feedback that many humans are feeding their animals before themselves and we, as a community can make a positive impact on the welfare of these families. Because pets are family.

We wish to honour dogs’ vital role as a lifeline to human physical and mental health. And have built a community through education, training and socialising and to help to make Dorset more dog friendly for our beautiful pups.

We help local dogs and humans who are feeling isolated, overwhelmed and in need of care for their dogs and themselves. Our Pet Food Banks cover Dorset from Portland to Christchurch. Keeping fur families together during this cost-of-living crisis x

We also do Stress Free Meet-Ups for the dogs we help to integrate back into the community e.g. rescues from Romania, Croatia and Greece and other areas of the world. And we help our lockdown pups and dogs who are over-socialised or hyperactive and struggling with doggie social cues.

We support Dog Socials, First Aid courses, Behaviour Clinics, Community Clean Ups, Stress Free Meet-Ups for dogs who cannot cope in the community, Recall Classes and Empathy Circles and so much more…

A strong part of our mission is to keep our Dorset - Dog Friendly and grow the support of local #dogfriendly businesses, dog professionals and dog parents. To bring together our community in unity and to resolve any areas of conflict.

We want to help dogs and their humans in our community who are struggling with behaviour issues, anxiety, bullying and isolation.

Dog Socials help to connect people together to provide support and a friendly, caring face.

We rely solely on donations for our work.
