JUST GIVING FUNDRAISER TO RAISE
£350 to OPEN SWANAGE PET FOOD BANK and fill the box with food during this Winter crisis
Merlin's Pet Food Bank has been sent an appeal this Winter from a lady who takes the bus all the way from Swanage to our Pet Food Bank in Poole, to feed her dog. The aim is to help set one up in Swanage, find a local business place to act as a donations point and to fill the box to the brim with pet food for Christmas and beyond into the cold winter.
Please be generous to help our pets stay with their families x
TO DONATE: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/swanage-pet-food-bank
Our 12 Pet Food Banks stretch from Christchurch to Portland feeding over 5,000 pet meals in Dorset. With 12 active Pet Food Banks in place within 12 months from our launch.
With fundraising efforts we hope to open a Dorset Dogs hub.
The average spend on a dog in the UK is £150/month (including food, training and vets fees) and we aim to raise funds to help feed pets as the first priority and if you can help us go into profit, we will re-invest profits back into veterinary and training needs as the next step locally. We are a not-for-profit.
To support us please Become a Member so that we can keep doing the work we do.
You are welcome to join the Facebook group Dog Friendly Dorset to keep up to date with all the news that they share about us!

This comes as a response to the increased pressures on pet owners due to the cost-of-living crisis. According to the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) survey of more than 60 animal shelters across England, 92% of shelters have seen an increase in people wanting to surrender a dog compared to pre-pandemic levels, and 88% saw an increase in people wanting to surrender cats.
