This online course will teach you how to read dog body language.

You'll discover these 5 core principles:

1. How to read the often subtle body language signals

We explore the dog's eyes, ears, mouth, fur, tail, and posture in detail. Exploring each individually. As well as point out the common mistakes being made, such as, “a wagging tail means a friendly dog…”

2. We explore your dogs’ emotions and the link to behaviour

We will discuss the link between emotion and body language. What does aggression, fear, anxiety, or happiness look and feel like? What are the potential underlying reasons for dog behaviours? And how knowing these can help to transform them.

3. Interpreting Dog-Dog Communication with video and images

We look at how dogs communicate with one another, appropriate play, and how to pre-empt our dog's behaviour.

4. Detailed Video Analysis

We will test our new knowledge through a detailed video analysis section of the workshop.

5. Reading subtle pain signals in dogs

This is one of the most overlooked and arguably hardest thing to recognise in our dogs because they are so stoic. Once dogs are showing obvious signs of pain this will almost be too late as the pain will be at very high levels to show it so obviously. What we want to teach is how to catch pain early to help treat it.

Requirements:

You do need not any special equipment to access this course. We recommend using a laptop connected to Wi-Fi. But a phone is fine. Casting your screen onto a TV is a lovely way to learn too but not necessary.
