What We Do

We help support Dog Friendly Dorset with their Dog Meet-Ups and Walks.

We offer Dog First Aid, Dog Welfare and Wellness

Our Mission…

Helping to feed pets in need during this cost-of-living-crisis.

Love Dogs. Love Dorset.

Dorset Dogs CIC is a not-for-profit incorporated social enterprise under registration number 13741228.

Our mission is to help dogs and humans.

To honour dogs and their vital role as a lifeline to human physical, emotional and mental health. A community of over 28,700 members built through education, training and socialising and to help to make Dorset more dog friendly for our beautiful pups.

We have launched 12 Pet Food Banks in 2023 to help keep families together and prevent dogs and pets from being given up under the current inflation and economic crisis. Because pets are family!

The Facebook group Dog Friendly Dorset is the community that chooses to support our initiatives with our focus being the Pet Food Banks.

“This group has helped me loads with my pup regarding socialising and etiquette” Lisa

We help local dogs and humans who are feeling isolated, overwhelmed and in need of care for their dogs and themselves.

Many of the dogs we help to integrate back into the community are rescues from Romania, Croatia and Greece and other areas of the world. And we help our lockdown pups and dogs who are over-socialised or hyperactive and struggling with doggie social cues.

We offer Pet Food Banks, we help with Dog Socials, First Aid courses, Behaviour Clinics, Community Clean Ups, Stress Free Meet-Ups for dogs who cannot cope in the community,

A strong part of our mission is to keep our Dorset - Dog Friendly and grow the support of local #dogfriendly businesses, dog professionals and dog parents. To bring together our community in unity and to resolve any areas of conflict. To help our county be the most dog friendly in the country!

Classes and Education: “I’ve attended these for my puppy Ralph and they’ve been amazing. Giving me the confidence and skills to teach him recall from an early age has been invaluable for both of us. I can’t recommend these classes, and others Dog Friendly Dorset do highly enough.” Tracy Goddard

We want to make Dorset more dog friendly by advocating for our dogs. Giving dogs a voice.

Our Dog Socials help to connect people, bringing them together to provide support and a friendly, caring face.

Through the support of our volunteers, events and funding this enables us to do our work. But we are in desperate need of funds and sponsorship please email hello@dorsetdogs.com

We rely solely on donations for our work and we are a not-for-profit organisation.

Case Study

Jude is an American Bulldog rescue who is fearful of many dogs and humans. He has been coming to our Stress Free Meet-Ups to help him cope better arounds humans and dogs. And these are the results …

“Thank you, thank you for an amazing Stress Free meet up!! We had such an amazing time!! Jude was so engaged today and up for learning. He worked incredibly well around the other dogs and I felt super proud that we were put in the middle of the action today.

At our first meet, Jude had to arrive early to walk round, cautiously meet his trainers, we were then always on the edge at a much bigger distance from the other dogs and people.

Today just shows how far we’ve come. Dogs both sides and in front and much closer. Proof that these meets help so much! He also gave Jan her first interaction! So happy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and thank you to the amazing community who support Dog Friendly Dorset because that support is what helps contribute to making meet ups like this possible!”
