WE DESPERATELY NEED FUNDS AND SPONSORS to keep our organisation going so that we can continue to grow our most pressing initiative which is the Dorset Dogs CIC Pet Food Banks, helping to feed pets in need during this cost-of-living crisis. We have 12 Pet Food Banks stretching from Portland to Christchurch to keep topped up during this cost-of-living crisis.

Hello friends,

Dorset Dogs CIC is a not-for-profit, incorporated social enterprise under registration number 13741228.

What is a CIC? A Community Interest Company is a social enterprise formed to benefit the community, or with a view to pursuing a social purpose, rather than making a profit for shareholders. It operates with social objectives, and with the profits being reinvested as such.

Dorset Dogs CIC aims to raise awareness of the importance of pets and dogs to the well-being of humans, both the physical and mental health and emotional benefits of owning a pet. Many pets are a lifeline for their humans and an emotional support aid, and we nurture the special relationships between dogs and humans by providing community-based support, events, and initiatives.

We are reliant solely on donations and sponsorship. When you donate to Dorset Dogs CIC you are supporting all of the work we do in the Dorset community for dogs and their families.

While we have a fantastic team of volunteers who support us, we have to cover the core costs of running the organisation, in addition to the costs we might incur for our community-based activities. If we cannot cover our costs, then the CIC and all our activities will cease to exist.

Your donation supports the running of our:

Website with directories and education platform

  • Pet Food banks across Dorset

  • Dog First-aid courses

  • Stress-free meet-ups (helping dogs who find it difficult to socialise)

  • Behaviour clinics  (live videos and conversations around difficult issues to bring unity to our community on the issues that polarise us).

  • Dog wellness education

  • Play dates and socials (to help humans and dogs to get out and socialise).

  • Online educational resources provided by professionals.

“Really pleased how far Bonny has come since joining this group. She used to bark at everything. Since coming to the rommies meets she now is happy being on the sang around other dogs without a sound. One of the dog walkers we bump into has also commented on how much she has come on.

I didn't do anything special with her but I think she realised the other dogs were not going to hurt her.

Thank you for such an amazing group plus the Dog Friendly Dorset Dogs Rommies/Heinz 57 group hosted by Jan Ryan.

Hobbes and River meeting for the first time on our Sighthounds Play Date showing the joy when dogs make friends with other like-minds and really get to show off their breed and build their confidence and self-esteem.

The humans get to socialise too and meet friends who share with each other the quirks of the breeds and share breed-specific information and meet each others needs.

We support each other.

Staffy Play Date to raise the profile of this beautiful breed which is often stigmatised in the community x
