Apacheta - a moon altar
Apacheta…
Is an ancient way to create a portal between you and the earth and to pour in blessings. In the Quero tradition we feed and continue to build our apacheta month on month. Making offerings and gifting any of our troubles or worries down to the compost of mother earth who alchemises and heals us as much as we heal her by processing our emotions and transforming our lives through honour and gratitude.
What to collect:
We are going to build an Apacheta (a rock altar). This can be built in your garden or in a secret place. You can also have an indoors apacheta with mini rocks on a plant pot of soil.
-Firstly sense and feel out to where you would like to build or place this Apacheta and speak to the spirit of this place
-Have some string or something coloured perhaps to lay out a circle for your apacheta. You can even use lentils or pine cones arranged in circle etc.…
-Collect objects/crystals/stones/shells/anything to symbolise each of The Moon, The Sun, Neptune and Jupiter. To invite in these energies. You can also use coloured candles: White, Orange, Blue and Yellow.
-Have some Florida water, moon water, sacred water to consecrate the ground.
-Have 3 leaves to place in the centre of the space and a cross made from twig or tobacco etc.
-Collect 5 large-ish stones if your apacheta is outside or small crystals/stones for an indoor one (you’ll also need a plant pot filled with soil for an indoor one. These are your foundation stones and this is what we will start with and build on.
-Choose a crystal , a stone, a special something to activate with your potential and that you will gift to the apacheta.
-Some flowers to arrange on your stone altar, perhaps some feathers
-We will continue to feed your potential and your apacheta over the moons to come…
-We shall build upon this apacheta together over the next few moons…
