New Moon in Taurus Ritual
The Dark Moon is a powerful time to rest and pause and meditate.
And as the first sliver of light appears in the day or so after the dark moon we seed our intentions and perform ritual.
For this meditation you may like to look back in your journal or diary what you faced this last month. And remind yourselves of you New Moon intentions in Aries and if they were different in Pisces too.
Ritual ingredients…
-Leaves or branch of a willow tree (optional)
choose any leaves or stick from a tree if you cannot access a Willow. This is the goddess Bride’s tree. Willow is also the tree of the moon.
-Candle to represent fire
-Feather or bell or music playing to represent air
-Rose quartz crystal or any Taurus crystal (optional)
you could also have some salt to represent the element of earth if you do not have a crystal.
-Bowl of sacred water or filtered water
(this can also be rain water or sea/river water) to represent the element of water
-Seasonal flowers or petals
Roses are very indicative of Beltane and the expression of love.
-Something to represent union or marriage or hand tying
This could be a souvenir from your own wedding, it could be something you are holding onto for when you get married, it can be something like a ring of your ancestor, it can be any type of ring to symbolise union, or cloth that can be bound or ribbon to be bound. It can be a garland of flowers or make yourself a bouquet. Whatever symbolises union to you and the idea of binding.
-Moon journal/notebook and pen
-To drink: mead or a tea like Mugwort or Rose or anything sweet. Sacred Cacao drink is also very Venusian and a heart opener. (optional)
-Cake or bread (optional)
"Willow,
O will you whisper while we listen,
So we learn what words
Your long leaves loosen"
Say these words and spend a moment with a Willow tree if you can over this next week x
Ask permission before taking any leaves or a branch x
This ritual pays homage to Beltane
(whose energies we are still in)
New Moon in Taurus Ritual
A bit about Beltane:
Beltane is celebrated by the calendar date 1st May or by the Astrological date which is when the sun reaches 15 degrees of Taurus (5th May 2021).
Beltane is the pagan celebration for Spring and the energies of birth and conception.
The Maiden Goddess Bride is called upon in her initiation to motherhood during this time.
It is the union of the masculine and the feminine and of conception. It is a potent time for creation of all sorts. And being a New Moon - if there is a project or a creation you have in mind it is a beautiful time to honour and make offerings and intentions around this. It could also be a calling in of new love, of pregnancy or a re-igniting and balancing of energies in an existing relationship that you might want to be calling on.
This New Moon has a powerful influence from our Scorpio Full Moon two weeks ago. What did we identify to release and cut away as old and dead to make space for our intentions under this New Moon? Perhaps we want to re-enact that Scorpionic release or simply ask for final release in the days running up to this New Moon and on the day itself.
We may want to look back at the intentions we made at our very first New Moon ritual together or if you are new to this programme - this will be the point now at which you make and record those intentions to be realised in 6 months time at the Full Moon in Taurus in November.
This ritual has the energies of Venus who rules Taurus and she is all about harmony, love, balance and equilibrium. She is the Maiden, Mother and Magus, the 3 expressions of the feminine. Or in Vedic Astrology she is Kali, Lakshmi and Durga.
In this ritual the Maiden is impregnated with the spark of creation that will grow into the summer months and be birthed into physical form x
Ritual to follow…
On the New Moon herself make time for meditation and it is in the couple of days after the Dark Moon where we make this ritual rather than on the “New”/Dark Moon day itself. And in the day or so after I shall upload a New Intentions ritual in the energies of Taurus and the night sky.
