  1. Tense (slow) moving tail

  2. Intense stare and eyeballing

  3. Tense jaw

  4. Growling can be heard faintly (a mild or an insecure warning as it is coming from under the throat and is not loud)

  5. Heckles

  6. Tense overall body

  7. One foot forward low stance ready to lunge if needed

  8. Lip licking
